Educate Yourself

Hand selected from the hills of Piedmont

Aromas are sweet but the wine is far from it. Hints of caramel get dominated by ripe tangerine and sweet honeysuckle on the bouquet. Full bodied yet crisp with ripe citrus giving way to stone fruits, cantaloupe and the prototypical almond hints that Arneis so proudly boasts. Background nuances of blue cotton candy and (maybe) graham cracker? Yum.

The word Arneis translates to 'little rascal' because of the difficulty in growing this grape.

THE PERFECT RECIPE: RAVIOLI WITH BROWN BUTTER & SAGE
+
Directions
  1. While your pasta cooks, melt butter in a 12 to 14-inch saute pan and continue cooking until golden brown color ("noisette" to be fancy) appears in the thinnest liquid of the butter.

  2. Add sage leaves and remove from heat.

  3. Add lemon juice and set aside.

  4. Drain the pasta, but leaving some cooking water, and gently pour into saute pan and return to heat.

  5. Add the cheese, toss to coat and serve immediately.

  6. Optional: Take it up a notch and heat some oil in a shallow pan until it begins to glisten and a whisper of smoke appears. Drop a few extra sage leaves in said oil for just a few minutes, until they seem crispy. Drain on paper towels and use as a super tasty and baller garnish for your pasta. #SageAdvice

Vineyard History

"Banking on the river"

The area of production is the geographical area of Roero situated on the left bank of the river Tanaro, in this case the village of Corneliano d’Alba. On the dry sandstone soils of the Roero, the Arneis grapes acquire a delicate bouquet that is reminiscent of white flowers with fresh fruity hints ranging from apple to peach and hazelnuts.

Tasting Guide

This 'little rascal' is a bright, medium bodied white with notes of stone fruits, herbs, neutral oak and minerals.
