Cascina Faletta Chardonnay

A full bodied yet soft Chardonnay from Italy. Notes of white flowers, white peaches, a touch of sugar and wizened apples.

PERFECT WITH

Buttered popcorn, sashimi, risotto, boiled shrimp.

Est! Est!! Est!!!

Intense and persistent with dried fruits, almonds, hazelnuts, acacia and lily of the valley. More dried apricot and almond on the palate with a weight that's balanced by just enough fresh acidity.

PERFECT WITH

Almond croissant, green bean salad, chicken pho, hummus and crudite.

Il Sognatore Cortese

Exotic and aromatic jasmine, white peach, stone fruits, and a touch of mint. In the mouth, the wine is bright with lemon-lime acidity and a refreshing finish.

PERFECT WITH

Antipasto, salads, seafood dishes, potato chips.

YOU SAMPLED a Medium red from

Mazziotti Merlot

Young vines that yield an intense ruby red colored wine. Soft and supple, elegant and balanced with pronounced scents of raspberry jam, vanilla and violets. On the palate the wine is soft with just a little tannic grip and loads of pleasant berry fruit, most noticeably strawberry and raspberry.

PERFECT WITH

Instant Pot curry, weekday spaghetti, fast food, Dutch gouda.

YOU SAMPLED a Medium red from

Centocamini Toscana Rosso

A bright, vivid ruby red color with an aroma of red fruit, Marasca cherry, violets and a touch of graphite that you expect from Tuscany. A clean fruit expression thanks to vinification in stainless steel instead of oak, the wine is fresh and convivial. This Toscana Rosso is easier drinking than some Chiantis, almost like the ‘Noveau’ of Tuscany.

PERFECT WITH

Cold cuts and cheese, finger foods, bagel bites.

YOU SAMPLED a Medium red from

Biasiotto Cabernet Franc

A French grape grown in the Venetian hills? We’ll take it. A deep ruby red color with faint violet tints. The nose is full of fruity aromas like cherry, black- and blueberries and a touch of fresh snipped herbs, cracked black pepper. It is deceptively dry for such a fruity bouquet, but the dense mixed-berry jam and fresh, ripe raspberry flavors balance out the palate with soft and harmonious tannins.

PERFECT WITH

Grilled meats, Pappardelle with ragu, beef stew, hard cheeses.

YOU SAMPLED a Medium red from

Costa Catterina Nebbiolo d’Alba “Nebbia”

A younger and brighter expression of Nebbiolo than you’ll find with the Barolo. Still aged in large oak casks, though only for 24 months, the wine displays more of the tart raspberry and fresh snipped flower scents and drinks with flavors of bright red fruits, cherries soaked in alcohol and licorice, and a touch of forest floor bramble.

PERFECT WITH

Seasoned cheeses, spicy Asian cuisine, Grandpa’s venison steaks, beef jerky.

YOU SAMPLED a Bold red from

Costa Catterina ‘Olo’ Barolo

The most well-known Nebbiolo region, and for good reasons. Released 4 full years after harvest, 3 of those spent in oak, Barolo is a powerhouse of rich rose and anise aromas and mouth-drying tannins. The paradox is that all of this is contained within a seemingly light wine; coffee, vanilla, red cherry, potpourri, allspice, truffles, tar, licorice and primordial Earth are all here. Oh, and tons and tons of enjoyable fruit on top of those gripping, addictive tannins. The King Of Italy!

PERFECT WITH

Braised short ribs, pot roast, wagyu carpaccio, anything that involves truffles.

YOU SAMPLED a Bold red from

Giovanni Abrigo Barolo Ravera 2015

A second Barolo in the mix! Compare and contrast the 2013 to 2015 from a different vineyard. 2015 was a warm year that produced an ephemeral nose of strawberry, cherry and sweet licorice scents. In time, flavors of raspberry compote, clove, tobacco and notes of deeply scented flowers come through.

PERFECT WITH

Parmigiano reggiano, Szechuan beef, ribeye steak, truffled cheeses.
