Dark forest berry flavors are accented by sweet pipe tobacco scents and subtle peony and violet aromas. Barrel aging adds a sprinkle of vanilla and toasty, smoky flavors on top of the brambley berry flavors making for an almost berry-pie like flavor profile!

Aged cheeses, filet mignon with balsamic reduction, dark chocolate

Interesting fact

Every year Pierre Andre takes his favorite cuvée of Brouilly and ages it in barrels a la the Burgundians. This unique approach to gamay shows how it can be serious and just how much it deserves a spot at the table when it comes to important French red wine grapes.

Montsant DO, Spain

Grapes

Grenache, Carignan, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting ntoes

Ripe red and black fruits, herbaceous notes and spice and soft velvety tannins for structure. The fruit flavors in this wine are deep in color but still tart, sort of like how a nice pour over coffee can be both tart and robust. Cherries, raspberries, pinch of balsamic and a little white pepper.

Pairs with

Grilled seafood, blue cheese, parmesan risotto

Vintage

2020

Region

Abruzzo, Italy

Grapes

100% Trebbiano

Tasting ntoes

Pretty aromas of lemon, honeycomb wax and white plum blend with a hint of walnut skin on the nose. There's good breadth and richness to the medium-bodied palate, with juicy yellow fruit struck against taut acidity.

Pairs with

Roasted turkey, pork, seafood pasta with lemon

Interesting fact

The hillside soils evolved on clayey marine sediments and have a good permeability to rainwater and a medium-textured clayey composition, characterized by a good limestone component and a rich minerality. These conditions are optimal for the cultivation of Trebbiano and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes of precious quality, so our vineyards of these grape varities are all located in our hillside estates.
